Appeals and Complaints
Appeals
Authors who believe an editorial decision was based on a factual error or a misunderstanding may appeal by replying to the decision email within 30 days, setting out the specific grounds. Appeals are considered by an editor not involved in the original decision wherever possible. Disagreement with a reviewer's judgement is not, on its own, grounds for appeal. The outcome of an appeal is final.
Complaints
Complaints about the journal's processes, delays or conduct may be sent to med@scyentist.com. Complaints are acknowledged within one week and handled promptly and fairly. A complaint concerning an editor is handled by another member of the editorial team.
If a complaint cannot be resolved by the journal, the complainant may refer it to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
